Born in Seville in 1959. He studied Medicine at the University of Seville, where he was an intern student by competitive examination in Medical Pathology I and in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
He completed his degree thesis, doctoral courses and doctoral thesis. His research, focused on gynecology and minimally invasive techniques, includes more than thirty articles, book chapters and protocols. He was among the first to use methotrexate in the treatment of ectopic pregnancy.
He supervises theses and numerous undergraduate final projects, and has taught Obstetrics and Gynecology for decades.
In the public health system he developed fetal ultrasound, cervical pathology, sexually transmitted infection and outpatient hysteroscopy units. He was Head of Section of the Gynecology Unit and, for three years, Head of the Clinical Management Unit. He obtained his permanent post as consultant specialist ranked first in both the competitive examination and the oral/written selection.

Born in Seville in 1983, he studied Medicine at the University of Seville, with one year at the Università degli Studi di Firenze (Italy).
He trained as a specialist at the Hospital Universitario Virgen Macarena, with placements at Hospital Vall d’Hebron (Barcelona), the Instituto Valenciano de Infertilidad, the Interregional Centre for Sexually Transmitted Diseases of Santa María de Gracia and the Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale (Arizona, USA), where he trained in robotic gynecological surgery.
He is a consultant specialist at the Hospital Universitario Virgen Macarena, attached to the General Gynecology and Laparoscopy Unit, where he runs the clinic for embolization and management of symptomatic fibroids.
His doctoral thesis studied mother-to-child transmission of ESBL- and carbapenemase-producing bacteria. He has given courses and presentations and trains colleagues in the diagnosis and treatment of fibroids.
